Produtores do Sul da Bahia investem na produção de cacau fino

A Cooperativa Agrícola de Gandú (COOPAG) localizada no sul do estado, em parceria com órgãos públicos e privados vem desenvolvendo a produção de cacau de qualidade, com o objetivo de melhorar a produção e agregar valor ao produto.

O projeto está na fase experimental de cacau fino de qualidade, e conta com produtores de sete cidades da região de Gandú. A representante do Instituto Cabruca, Adriana Reis, destaca que a qualidade do programa está nas parcerias: “As parcerias desse projeto, são também o grande diferencial dele. São instituições que tem know-how na área de cacau, e é realizado pelo Instituto Cabruca, UESC, Ceplac, Coopac, Cooprasul, e tem apoio do Senar de Gandú que está sempre apoiando as logísticas do projeto e ainda as Fazendas da M. Libânio”.

Os produtores acreditam no cooperativismo como agente de crescimento da economia e a prova é que já exportaram cacau para Europa. Agora, eles buscam alcançar o mercado de cacau fino. O diretor da Coopag, Manoel Lopes, fala da participação do produtores: “Criamos o primeiro grupo, fizemos o convite e já tem 10 produtores produzindo, inclusive já temos o cacau e mandamos para o laboratório e estamos aguardando o resultado”.

Os resultados da produção foram mostrados a pesquisadores do Instituto Cabruca e Ceplac, e de acordo com o produtor, Roque Souza, a qualidade do cacau tem sido o incentivo da produção: “Nós temos interesse de vender um produto com mais qualidade, e esperamos que com a qualidade da produção possamos ter mais lucro”.

O processo de produção de cacau fino não tem segredos como afirma o produtor, Carlos Martins, que já está produzindo há seis meses: “Não foi difícil porque quem já trabalha na zona rural facilita o aprendizado. Já estou no sétimo lote e pretendo expandir ainda mais”.

As visitas técnicas do Instituto Cabruca e Ceplac acontecem mensalmente e servem para orientar como deve ser o processo de fermentação, melhoramento das instalações, secagem e adequação das amêndoas para a produção de cacau fino com qualidade e de acordo a Adriana Reis, o mérito é dos produtores por toda a dedicação.
