Pescadores do extremo sul baiano recebem unidade de beneficiamento

Mais de mil pescadores do município de Prado, no extremo sul da Bahia, recebem apoio para a gestão da Unidade de Beneficiamento e Comercialização de Pescado, entregue pelo governo estadual, no último fim de semana, na sede da Colônia de Pescadores Z-23.

A iniciativa é resultado de parceria entre a Bahia Pesca, empresa da Secretaria da Agricultura (Seagri), e a Secretaria de Desenvolvimento e Integração Regional (Sedir), por meio da CAR. A unidade, que tem duas câmaras de gelo e um salão para distribuição de pescados e limpeza dos peixes, beneficia pescadores dos distritos de Cumuruxatiba e Corumbau.

Renda – Para o secretário de Desenvolvimento e Integração Regional, Wilson Brito, a unidade é importante para incentivar a atividade dos pescadores, com possibilidade de incrementar a renda e o comércio local. “Estamos juntos nessa parceria com a Bahia Pesca, porque entendemos que essa é uma reivindicação antiga da comunidade.”

O presidente da Colônia Z-23, Edivaldo Vieira Franco, conhecido como Vado, afirmou que a unidade possibilitará aos associados comprar gelo mais barato. “Vamos sair das mãos dos atravessadores.”

‘kits marisqueiras’ – Durante o evento, a Bahia Pesca também entregou ‘kits marisqueiras’ – bancada com pia e outra para catação, ecofogão, jogo de panelas e escorredor – para a comunidade Pataxó de Corumbau. Os kits vão facilitar o beneficiamento dos produtos da mariscagem, além de possibilitar melhorias nas condições de higiene.

O presidente da Bahia Pesca, Isaac Albagli, disse que “essa ação é importante, porque não é apenas uma parceria de cessão da unidade, mas também de gestão, onde a Sedir, via CAR, fará a capacitação técnica e a Bahia Pesca a capacitação operacional.”
