O segmento da agroindustrialização na Bahia, assumido como prioridade pelo Governo do Estado, amplia o cenário de atuação nesta quarta-feira, 23, às 10h, com a inauguração da fábrica de café da Sara Lee, no bairro de Pirajá. Para o secretário estadual da Agricultura, engenheiro agrônomo Eduardo Salles, que marcará presença no evento, a vinda de uma unidade da Sara Lee, líder no mercado de café com 22,3% do mercado nacional, indubitavelmente, contribuirá para alavancar a economia do Estado.

A unidade será responsável pela produção das marcas Pilão e Caboclo para o Nordeste. A planta industrial foi incorporada pela multinacional americana em novembro do ano passado como parte da aquisição da Café Damasco em negócio avaliado em R$ 100 milhões.
