Beneficiamento do cupuaçu vai dobrar rendimento de agricultores em Tomé-Açu

O beneficiamento da polpa e a extração de óleos do cupuaçu, cujas unidades começarão a operar em abril, vai dobrar o rendimento de 50 famílias ligadas à Associação de Produtores e Produtoras de Agricultura Familiar do município de Tomé-Açu (Apprafamta), que antes obtinham um rendimento de R$ 1.600 por tonelada da semente vendida e, com as usinas, terão um saldo de R$ 3.000,00. Se os frutos forem orgânicos há ainda um acréscimo de 30% sobre esse lucro.

Em relação à polpa, os rendimentos se multiplicam por 10, de R$ 0,50 centavos para R$ 5,00 a cada quilo. A polpa do fruto também será beneficiada, vendida à Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab) e distribuída em Tomé-Açu.

Fundada em 2005, a Apprafamta é a proponente do Projeto de Investimento Produtivo (PIP) de Óleos da Amazônia. Os recursos de R$ 241 mil já foram liberados pelo Acordo de Empréstimo entre o governo estadual e o Banco Interamericano de Reconstrução e Desenvolvimento (Bird).

O projeto envolve a comunidade de Santa Luzia, no ramal Bragantina, em Tomé-Açu, na região de Integração do Capim, nordeste do estado. Os Projetos de Investimentos Produtivo (PIPs) são uma iniciativa do programa Pará Rural, vinculado à Secretaria de Estado de Projetos Estratégicos (Sepe), desenvolvidos em comunidades rurais das 12 regiões de integração do Pará.

Em Tomé-Açu, a expectativa é melhorar as condições de vida, sobretudo em saúde e educação. Antes do projeto, os pequenos agricultores coletavam as sementes de cupuaçu e vendiam à multinacional Beraca Sabará, representada pela Brasmazon, em Ananindeua. A Apprafamta pretende trabalhar também com o açaí, cacau, maracujá, muruci e taperebá, que são espécies existentes na região.

Produção – O óleo da semente de cupuaçu é usado largamente na indústria cosmética para a produção de cremes hidratantes e xampus, por exemplo. Já a polpa do cupuaçu será utilizada na indústria alimentícia, como matéria-prima para cremes, sorvetes, sucos, geleias e bombons.

O Projeto de Investimento Produtivo (PIP) de Óleos da Amazônia prevê o reflorestamento via Sistemas Agroflorestais, com o plantio de novas árvores de cupuaçu para garantir no futuro a disponibilidade do fruto. O planejamento do PIP de Óleos da Amazônia foi realizado pela empresa Plantar e a assistência técnica também será prestada por ela.
