Acordo fortalece citricultura da Bahia e Sergipe

Com o objetivo de fortalecer a citricultura do Nordeste, os Estados da Bahia e Sergipe saem na frente firmando um Termo de Cooperação Técnica que será assinado no próximo dia 28, entre as secretarias de agricultura dos Estados envolvidos. Além disso, uma proposta para um Pacto Federativo será encaminhada aos governadores para apreciação e legitimação do acordo.

As ações irão estabelecer atividades conjuntas e colaborativas no que se refere à defesa agropecuária e o monitoramento da Diaphorina citri inseto vetor da Huanglongbing (HLB) ou ex-Greening. A praga promove a morte econômica das plantações, diante da deformação e redução do tamanho de frutos, com conseqüente queda da produtividade.

A Bahia é considerada área livre de ocorrência do HLB (ex-Greening). “Diversas ações relevantes já são realizadas como, por exemplo, inspeções fitossanitárias, monitoramento em áreas comerciais, armadilhamento em pontos estratégicos e fiscalização do trânsito de vegetais nas barreiras sanitárias”, disse o diretor de defesa sanitária vegetal da Adab, Armando Sá. “E novas ações também estão sendo planejadas para implementação em campo” reforça.

Fiscais agropecuários estaduais da Agência de Defesa Agropecuária da Bahia (Adab) em conjunto com pesquisadores da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa), promoveram a preparação de equipes de atuação, com treinamentos realizados nos meses de fevereiro e março, no sentido de estabelecer as rotinas de monitoramento e identificação do vetor do HLB.

“Conhecer as interações que ocorrem entre hospedeiros do HLB (Citros e Murta), seu vetor (Diaphorina citri) e o agroecossistema dos principais pólos citrícola, permitirá à defesa agropecuária atuar de forma estratégica e proativa , pois, políticas públicas serão propostas no sentido de retardar o ingresso da praga no território baiano” conclui a fiscal estadual agropecuária e coordenadora do projeto fitossanitário dos citros, Suely Brito.
